So I decided that I don’t want to try to master a single language anymore. I just want to learn new things and expand my worldview. It’s pointless to 执着in reading a lot of Mandarin books. I feel that when I read english books, I was like entering another world, seeing things in a different way. There’s a big difference between how westerners and chinese people think. I think absorbing different thoughts from different kinds of people is important. It helps us to be more 客观. Now I read more english books than mandarin books, partly because i had started to get bored of 方块字. But I think I will eventually get bored of alphabets too. So I have to switch always. And one of my friend who reads a lot of english books, suddenly started to read chinese books. I was like, awwwww we switched interest? lololol. But I feel a little 自卑when i see she’s reading 射雕英雄传while i’m just reading some stupid scholastic children books.

I hate apostrophes because I feel it makes a word seem informal.

Finding the ‘true meaning of your names’ using apps on facebook is very lame. The apps merely match each letter of your name to a nice word and the truth is there are many many nice words starting with any letter. Same with ugly words as well. If your name starts with B it can be either Beautiful or Bitchy. And also I think it’s willy willy farney when people make slogans with some stupid short forms of Malay words like 3M. Because practically every verb in Malay starts with M. But many people see it as some sort of coincidence that adds value to that slogan. Sometimes people break down a word and use the letters to form a beautiful sentence and give deep meaning to that word. Like ‘family’ equals to ‘father and mother i love you’. I don’t like the way that people give meaning to words because I think it’s plain stupid and act-romantic. One set of letters can form any kind of sentence -be it good or bad- if you really want. I think every word that exists already has their meaning so we don’t need to use other words to define them.
